Anna

Anna obtained her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Salford. During her degree Anna completed a research placement funded by Kidscan in the labs of Dr Joanna Denbigh and Dr Peter Gardner, studying the use of Fourier Transform infra-red spectroscopy to measure fatty acid uptake in adipocyte cells. After graduation she worked as a Research Scientist at Artios Pharma, a biotechnology company developing therapies that target the DNA damage response.

As a PhD student in the Ribeiro de Almeida lab, Anna is funded by a BBSRC CTP PhD studentship (in collaboration with Artios Pharma) and investigates novel mechanisms of DSB repair.
